I tend to use remarks as scouts. A month or even a year or two years, three years, later a strategic use will occur to me. I suddenly think of what the scout showed me but within a new idea. What of the scout himself?  In fatigues, unwashed, bearded …. I want him lost.

Why is it that science fiction robots, even Asimov’s famous robots, seem implausible even while, increasingly, technology is surrounding us with them, albeit in slightly different forms?
